A jury today rejected Phillip Seaton's claim for $16 million in damages.
Seaton says he went into the hospital to have a circumcision in 2007 after doctors found cancer on his sex organs.
But when he woke up hours later, his penis was gone.
The lawsuit states doctors received consent to perform a circumcision and only a circumcision, and that Seaton never agreed to having his penis removed.
An attorney for urologist, Dr. John Patterson, says the doctor had to remove Seaton's penis after discovering cancer during the surgery.
Defense attorney Clay Robinson maintains the doctor "had no reasonable option" other than removing the cancer - and the penis.
And the jury agreed, finding that if the doctor had taken the time to consult with the couple, the cancer would have had more time to spread.
The couple has already reached an undisclosed settlement with Jewish Hospital, where the surgery was performed.
